2021 Festival Covid Update

Following our latest committee meeting on 9th January 2021 I wish to inform you of a further update on our plans for this year’s festival.

It is with great sadness that we, as a committee, agreed that it is not viable for us to hold our festival at Easter as we had hoped. We have discussed the possibility of moving the dates further into 2021 in the hope we have better news regarding the pandemic and current restrictions. Unfortunately we do not feel there is sufficient information available right now for us to move forward with firm plans at this point in time. We have agreed to host a further meeting on 15 February to review the situation and will be in touch as soon as we have any further information to pass on.

In the meantime, stay safe and see you all very soon.
Thank you
Marlyn Peers

Scunthorpe Musical Festival joined the British and International Federation of Festivals in 1924. Over the years we have grown into three flourishing sections, each lasting a full week. In addition we organise a week’s residential drama summer school at BISHOP GROSSETESTE UNIVERSITY , LINCOLN.

In October 2011, we were awarded a Gold Medal by the Federation for our organisational skills and we are well-known for being a friendly festival.

In October 2011, we were awarded a Gold Medal by the Federation for our organisational skills and we are well-known for being a friendly festival.

We aim to encourage young people from all areas to gain confidence in public, to share experiences and with the help of professionals to make progress in their chosen disciplines.

Our major strengths are always using federation adjudicators, having all necessary stewards C.R.B. checked
